WHY HELLO THERE!
NICE TO MEET YOU
I grew up in Columbia, Missouri and attended Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri for my undergraduate degree. I went on to Fontbonne University in St. Louis for my master's degree in Speech Pathology with an emphasis in children with hearing loss. When I graduated, I moved to the Des Moines area and worked for the next 7 years as a full time SLP in an outpatient pediatric clinic. In 2014, I began to dabble in teletherapy and over the next few years I worked increasingly more doing teletherapy and less as an "on the ground SLP."
My first passion in the field is serving children with hearing loss that utilize cochlear implants and/or hearing aids. In 2017, I became the first Certified Auditory Verbal Therapist (AVT) in Iowa. My most recent interest is teletherapy, and I currently work as a school-based SLP teletherapist providing services to children K-12. I also create no-print/no-prep SLP materials as well as resources for SLPs working with children with hearing loss.
