If you've been around here for a minute, you know that I am a big fan of Boom Cards. These digital, interactive, and self-grading cards make for a great therapy activity, and can also easily be shared with students to practice at home. Whether it's nursery rhymes or life skills you're working on with your students, there are so many activities to choose from!

BLUE LIGHT BLOCKING GLASSES

In elementary school, I wanted to have glasses so bad! Fast forward just a few years (wink wink), and between teletherapy, blogging, and creating resources I am on my computer a lot. The eye strain was starting to really bother me. At the end of the day, my eyes were so tired. These were the first blue light blocking glasses that I purchased, and they've made a huge difference! I use them night and day!

HEADSET WITH MICROPHONE

I'm no "gamer" (unless you count playing Dr. Mario on the Game Boy in the 90s) but I totally mooch off the gaming community for their headsets! I can't tell you how many cheap headsets I've purchased in all my years doing teletherapy. And needless to say, they have all been laid to rest because they snapped. Literally. The plastic just snapped. I finally splurged for this one that goes all the way around my ear, so no squished pinna here! The also have great sound quality and background noise cancellation and a whole bunch of other awesome nerdy audio features!

TEMPERED GLASS CHAIR MAT

This might be my favorite splurge of all time. When setting up my teletherapy office years ago, I walked into an office supply store to buy a chair mat. You know, the plastic ones that crack easily and are anything but smooth for moving your chair across floor 🤦‍♀️ Well, the salesperson convinced me to try a glass chair mat. One roll of the chair and I was sold. That was years ago, and I still do not take my easy chair-gliding for granted! If you work from home, give treat yourself to a glass chair mat!
